ABOUT
Justine Mastin, LMFT is a psychotherapist, author, and so much more. She is the owner of Blue Box Counseling in Minneapolis, MN, where she specializes in working clients who self-identify as being outside of the cultural mainstream—such as those in the geek, LGBTQIA+, and cultic recovery communities.
Outside of the therapy office, Justine is the co-author of The Grieving Therapist: Caring for Yourself and Your Clients When it Feels Like the End of the World, and Starship Therapise: Using Therapeutic Fanfiction to Rewrite Your Life. She has also contributed to numerous other books on pop culture and psychology, and co-hosts both the Starship Therapise and Dark Side of the Mat podcasts.
Justine is proud to teach future therapists as an adjunct faculty member at University of Massachusetts Global and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and she regularly speaks about the intersection of pop culture and psychology at pop culture conventions around the country and online.
Justine takes a holistic approach to healing: mind, body, and fandom.
